As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll collaborate closely with the product team to understand requirements, design solutions, and oversee the entire app development lifecycle from design to delivery, including development, quality assurance, and deployment.

- Engineering Excellence: Work within our engineering teams to develop and deliver mobile application features creating exceptional new digital experiences for our customers that align with the technical roadmap.
- Mentorship: Mentor fellow engineers to enhance their technical skills and improve team capabilities across various mobile technologies.
- Quality Focus: Passionate about delivering high-quality applications by writing clean, maintainable, and testable code that builds in-line with modern best practice.
- Modernisation Advocate: Enhance our modernisation initiatives by improving code development, quality, and DevOps practices for mobile applications, thereby driving business value through technology.
- Quality Assurance: Champion shift left practices for test automation in collaboration with our QE team to ensure a stable and resilient banking experience for our users.
- Team Culture: Support and role model agreed work practices while fostering a positive team culture.
- Team Contribution: Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of features and systems.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- You are a cross-functional mobile engineer with hands-on experience building robust applications for iOS (Swift) and a willingness to learn Android (Kotlin) platforms. You have a deep understanding of mobile app design principles, platform-specific patterns, and best practices.
- Proficiency in SwiftUI, UIKit, and ideally Kotlin Multiplatform or React Native, with beneficial experience in Objective-C and Java for legacy support and interoperability.
- Strong grasp of architectural design patterns such as MVVM and MVP, and ability to discuss pros and cons of various architectural styles in detail, with proven experience in building modular, scalable, and maintainable cross-platform systems.
- Solid understanding of quality engineering standards, including mobile automation frameworks and testing tools like XCTest, XCUITest, Espresso, and JUnit.
- Experience with Mobile DevOps tools such as Fastlane, Gradle, Jenkins, and familiarity with cloud-based CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, Bitrise).
- Knowledge of Material Design and Apple Human Interface Guidelines, with a focus on accessibility and inclusive design.
- Deep understanding of concurrency models including GCD, Operation Queue, coroutines, and structured concurrency across platforms.
- Experience conducting code reviews, driving technical excellence, and mentoring junior developers across both iOS and Android teams.
- Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, contributing to complex systems with a strong customer-centric mindset.
