Are you a hands-on, technically minded leader with a passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement? We’re looking for a proactive Shift Supervisor to join our high-performing team at Visy Board Wiri.
The opportunity
As the afternoon Shift Supervisor for the Convertor, you will bring your expertise in fibre or cardboard packaging and lead a large team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll be the go-to expert in corrugated packaging, safety, driving performance, mentoring team members, and ensuring production excellence
This is a permanent position working on the afternoon shift starting at between 3.00pm to 5.50pm, Monday to Friday. Further to this your key responsibilities will include:
What you will do:
Reporting to the Shift Manager you will be responsible for:
- Initiate and drive safe work practices, ensuring you and your team follow all safety policies and meet all regulations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and maintain quality and compliance standards.
- Oversee shift operations, ensuring machines run efficiently and production targets are met.
- Train and develop your team to achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Report daily on production output, safety, and non-conformances.
- Foster a positive, high-performance team culture through effective leadership and communication.
What you will bring to the team:
You will lead by example and are outcome oriented with a 'can do' attitude. Your flexible and enthusiastic approach will ensure strong leadership and motivation. You have excellent communication skills, are motivated, and work with your team to find solutions to the day-to-day challenges. You will have:
- Proven experience in Corrugated cardboard industry (highly desirable)
- 2-3 years’ experience leading a highly productive team
- Tech savvy and have Lean Manufacturing experience (desirable)
- A self-motivated, safety-first mindset with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Forklift license and First Aid Certificate advantageous
