March Cato are a Civil Engineering business delivering 3 Waters projects for our clients. We are starting a new division that delivers trenchless pipe rehabilitation work and we require a Site Foreman to lead a crew specializing in trenchless renewal to help deliver these infrastructure projects.
The Site Foreman for Trenchless Pipe Rehabilitation is responsible for managing the worksite and overseeing a team that is responsible for the installation of mainline liners, patches, and LJRs in wastewater and stormwater pipes. This role involves planning, organizing materials, and ensuring the efficient and safe execution of projects throughout New Zealand. This role will require travel - you will be working across the whole of New Zealand (North Island as well as South Island), covering all regions: Taranaki, Manawatū- Whanganui, Otago, Canterbury, Hawke’s Bay, West Coast, Southland, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Tasman, Marlborough, Auckland, Wellington, Waikato, Nelson and Northland. Accommodation and transport will be provided.
The Site Foreman for Trenchless Pipe Rehabilitation will ensure that all works comply with our business policies and procedures, whilst also striving to meet construction deadlines. This is a leadership role, so the successful applicant must be comfortable and confident representing March Cato in front of our clients in a professional and proactive manner.
We expect that our site leaders will have the following skills:
- 2yrs experience in a leadership position
- Class 1 license (minimum requirement)
- Motivated with good work ethics and will prioritise H&S of their crew and actively be part of developing good HSQEW practices and attitudes
- Good problem solving skills (technically & practically minded person)
- Physically fit with a can-do attitude
- Experience in construction or mining industry required
- Comfortable to travel away from home for up to three weeks at a time
- CCTV installation and CIPP lateral lining experience
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a crew installing mainline liners, patches and LJRs in wastewater and stormwater pipes, to ensure smooth and efficient worksite operations.
- Plan weekly tasks and job sites, coordinating with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Construction Managers and Traffic Management.
- Prepare materials, equipment, and tools in advance for daily tasks.
- Oversee and install mainline liners, patches, and LJRs in wastewater and stormwater pipes of various sizes.
- Ensure crew members are trained in using and maintaining equipment properly.
- Identify staff training needs and participate in industry-related training sessions.
- Interpret plans, regulations, and codes of practice to manage work.
- Inspect materials to ensure it meets quality specifications and safety standards.
- Complete and upload quality control reports daily.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and ensure high-quality results.
- Conduct Health and Safety Audits to ensure compliance.
- Communicate effectively with managers about progress and any issues.
- Actively participate in ongoing professional development, attending training courses / programs as directed to continually enhance technical expertise and industry knowledge.
