Mō te Tūranga | About the role
We're looking for a Software Consultant to join our Core Integration squad — a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing ASB's core API platforms. This is a senior technical role for someone who brings deep engineering expertise, thought leadership, and a passion for mentoring others.
You'll lead design and delivery across the software development lifecycle, influence architectural decisions, and help uplift the squad's capability. You'll also contribute to operational excellence through deployments, releases, and on-call support.
Ō Pūkenga | About you
You're a seasoned engineer with a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach. You're comfortable working independently, supporting production environments, and guiding others through complex technical challenges.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in C# .NET and API development
- Familiarity with version control tools (TFS, Azure DevOps or similar)
- Hands-on DevOps experience, especially with pipelines
- Exposure to observability toolsets (e.g. Elastic Observability)
- Strong understanding of platform architecture and operations
- Willingness to learn and grow, with a proactive and independent approach
- Ability to provide on-call support
Bonus skills:
- Experience with GitHub Enterprise
- SQL scripting capability
- Familiarity with React or similar frameworks (Vue, Angular)
