Want to be part of something meaningful? Help deliver one of New Zealand's most important democratic events - the 2023 General Election. Whether you're great with people, super organised, or just keen to get involved, there's likely a role for you.
We're hiring hundreds of people across the country for casual roles that range from a single day to several weeks. Pay rates vary depending on the role, from $26 to $33.80 per hour, plus 8% holiday pay.
Electorate Headquarters Roles - Help Keep It All Running
Prefer behind-the-scenes work? Our HQ teams are the engine rooms of the election - making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. These roles involve:
- Providing admin and coordination support
- Supporting and managing voting place teams
- Handling data, logistics and post-election processing
(Note: Headquarters may not be close to where you live, but Voting Places are located across the region.)

- Positive, reliable, and keen to get stuck in
- Great with people from all walks of life
- Quick to learn and good at following instructions
- Detail-focused and calm under pressure
- Comfortable using technology (MS Office only for some roles)
