We are looking for a receptionist to join our team at Te Puna o Whakaehu to fill one or both of the available shifts for a fixed term period from the end of October 2025 to mid July 2026 to cover parental leave. Casual work will also be available during this time.
The shifts we have on offer are:
- Friday 3:00pm - 7:00pm
- Saturday 1:00pm - 7:30pm

As a receptionist you will be responsible for greeting, admitting, and orientating patrons in a friendly and courteous manner, projecting a positive public image and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. You will also identify customer needs and expectations, provide relevant and accurate information on available products and services, and accurately process and record transactions and sales.
In this role, you will work closely with the Te Puna o Whakaehu Admin Supervisor and Team Leader to ensure uniformity of processes across DCC Aquatics sites. You will also promote and up-sell the sale of swimwear and swim-related products offered for sale in the swim shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and orientate patrons in a friendly and courteous manner
- Accurately process and record transactions and sales
- Provide relevant and accurate information on available products and services
- Work as an integral part of the Te Puna o Whakaehu reception team and wider Aquatic Services Team
- Promote and up-sell the sale of swimwear and swim-related products offered for sale in the swim shop
- Ensure personal and public safety while at work, according to the departments and the Council's health and safety policies, procedures, and systems
