The purpose of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group is to work in partnership with the rest of the organisation to provide digital technology and communications solutions that support excellence in policing and service delivery and enable Police's strategic ambitions.

As the Technical Product Owner of Core Platforms, you will lead the development and evolution of foundational infrastructure services, with a focus on virtualisation, containerisation, and hybrid cloud technologies. This role is ideal for a virtualisation specialist who thrives in a collaborative, agile environment and is passionate about driving innovation at scale.

In this role you will provide the vision for our core infrastructure platforms, with a focus on: -

  • Virtualisation platforms (VMware)
  • Container orchestration (OpenShift)
  • Hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS)
  • Automation, DevOps enablement and platform tooling
  • Service Reliability Engineering

We seek a strong people leader who can provide technical leadership to engineering teams and foster an agile team culture. You will bring strong relationship skills to collaborate widely with stakeholders, vendors, architects, and other product owners to deliver value from our platforms. You will champion a modern approach to the delivery of reliable mission critical products and a data driven approach guide improvements and future development.

If you are someone who has proven ability to mentor, drive new technology and infuse new ways of working then this role is for you.

Our Technical Product Owner roles carry the same position description across our products, and we are seeking to build a team that is flexible by design. This role will lead a team of direct reports and works closely with other Product Managers, Owners and our Architecture team to drive the adoption of practices at Police.
