Template Developer & Configurator - Graduate/Junior Role

StoryTEQ
Auckland, Auckland
Full time

At Storyteq, our mission is to empower creative and marketing teams at top brands to scale their creative production and deliver engaging, on-brand campaigns across every market and channel faster. We're revolutionising the way marketers and production teams create, manage and activate content. Storytq is part of Inspired Thinking Group (ITG), a global team of over 2,000 professionals.

The role:
Based in Auckland, we’re looking for a technology graduate or junior developer/designer with 1–2 years’ work experience to join our growing APAC team in a hybrid role that blends creativity, problem-solving, and technical know-how.

Your role will have two key parts:

  • Template Developer – building dynamic templates using Adobe and web technologies.
  • Software Configurator – customising the Storyteq platform for individual client needs.

Training will be provided, so if you’re a curious, tech-savvy person with a great attitude, we’d love to hear from you.

Part 1: Template Developer

Our Creative Automation solution generates over 100,000 videos, statics, banners and print outputs every week. To do this, After Effects, Photoshop or InDesign files provided by clients must be transformed into dynamic templates using a combination of Adobe plug-ins and coding techniques.

You’ll help build these templates using a blend of HTML, Adobe scripting (especially AE Expressions), and our internal tools. You’ll also work directly with clients – taking briefs, responding to feedback, and making sure their templates perform exactly as needed.

Part 2: Software Configurator

As a Configurator, you’ll work inside the Storyteq platform to tailor and set up client solutions — turning requirements into reality through thoughtful configuration and customisation.

You’ll be the link between what the platform can do and what the client needs it to do. This means helping design and implement the right setup for each customer, integrating features, adjusting settings, and ensuring smooth user experiences.

If your feeling a little short in one of these areas, apply anyway as we will arrange training for a candidate that impresses in other areas and has a great attitude and good culture-fit.

You'll love being part of our tight-knit and supportive team in our APAC office in Takapuna, Auckland.

Requirements

  • Build dynamic creative templates via template solution tools plus our HTML and Adobe plug-in templating tools.
  • Configure and tailor the Storyteq platform to meet individual client needs.
  • Take briefs and action feedback directly from clients.
  • Help optimise client solutions for scale and performance.
  • Stay updated on product features and platform evolutions.
  • Work closely with global and local teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Troubleshoot issues and document solutions for future support.

The skills we're looking for:

  • Know your way around the Adobe stack, in particular After Effects, HTML coding and front-end web development.
  • Have experience/interest in AE Expressions
  • Are interested in print, video and/or media-related technology
  • Are keen to further develop your technical and professional skills
  • Love solving problems and learning new tools.
  • Are confident working with clients and communicating technical info clearly.
  • Have an interest in creative automation, content production, and martech.
  • Can balance attention to detail with speed and efficiency.
  • Are self-motivated, proactive and enjoy working in a collaborative team.

Things we love at Storyteq:

  • Be entrepreneurial
  • See and seize opportunities
  • Take ownership
  • Focus on impact
  • Be ambitious

Benefits

  • Hybrid working - after the initial training period
  • Training & Development
  • High End Laptop and Monitor
