About HELP
HELP (Auckland Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation) was established in 1982 and is an independent “for purpose” organisation which provides a range of quality services to adults, young people, children, and families who are impacted by sexual abuse or assault. We work with the clients in age-appropriate ways to heal from the trauma and develop interpersonal skills that can be damaged or disrupted by sexual violence and trauma. We are a values-driven organisation, which is reflected in the ways that the organisation is run, with a strong and inclusive team culture. The Therapy Team consists of approximately 12 staff on site (10 clinical & 2 non-clinical) and 29 Affiliates (Contractors) remotely.
The Role
The Therapy Services Manager (TSM) will oversee all aspects of the Therapy Team. This includes providing operational oversight, team growth, managing budgets, providing clinical and procedural support and consultation to members of the Therapy Team to ensure quality service delivery and maintaining a small caseload. The TSM will also oversee the running of the DBT programme at HELP as well as the management of the ACC Sensitive Claims Contract and Contractors (Service Providers & Named Service Providers)
The TSM will work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team to contribute to add value, through design of client-centred solutions that align with HELP’s vision and values whilst upholding the organization's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Key aspects of the role:
- To provide leadership, management and clinical consultation to the Therapy team.
- Manage the agency’s Therapy services, so that survivors of sexual abuse, their whānau and friends receive high-quality support and the appropriate response to their needs.
- Understand community needs and develop the service to meet these needs.
- Work with and support other social agencies that support this work.
About you:
- You have a combination of significant clinical and management experience. (min 5 -8 years)
- You are a fully registered member of a relevant Professional Governing Body.
- You have a post-graduate qualification in Counselling, Psychology, or Psychotherapy.
- Experience managing a budget, reporting to funders and maintaining legal compliance.
- Skills and knowledge of trauma therapy for clients with complex presentations (experience with DBT is an advantage) and the needs of survivors of sexual violence.
- You will bring an understanding of and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Capacity to inspire and lead your team as well as working collaboratively.
