We’re on the lookout for a dedicated transport manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the company’s transport and logistics operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods.
- Develop and implement transport strategies, policies, and procedures in line with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Manage daily fleet operations including scheduling, routing, vehicle allocation, and load planning.
- Monitor transport costs, budgets, and performance targets to maximise efficiency and reduce wastage.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, transport legislation, and company policies.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, servicing, and regulatory certifications to ensure safety and reliability.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with freight providers, suppliers, and third-party logistics partners.
- Recruit, train, and supervise drivers and transport staff, ensuring performance standards are met.
- Use transport management systems (TMS) and logistics software to track shipments, analyse data, and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop contingency plans to minimise disruptions in case of delays, breakdowns, or other logistics issues.
- Maintain strong communication with warehouse, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.
- Analyse transport data, prepare reports, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in logistics performance.
Requirements:
- At least NZQF Diploma (level 4) or equivalent or higher , OR, at least two years of relevant experience. (either one)
- Proven ability to organise calendars, meetings, and cloud-based records in a small-business or service-industry setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and cleaning staff.
- Solid working knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft 365—including email, shared drives, calendars, and basic spreadsheets.
- Experience preparing concise reports, meeting minutes, and cost comparisons to support management decisions.
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements when handling contracts, staff files, and client records.
- Confident in researching suppliers, comparing prices, and negotiating basic terms for products or services.
- Comfortable directing casual office or admin support staff to keep routine tasks on schedule.
- Familiarity with health-and-safety documentation and safe work practices within the cleaning or facilities-management industry is an advantage.
