Our Auckland Fresh Produce is seeking an Assistant to join the Pick Pack and Prepared Produce team.
As part of a dynamic group, you will help Pick, prepare, process, and pack fresh vegetables and fruits according to customer orders.
The role:
- Immediate start
- Permanent, full-time position
- Location - Ihumatao Road, Mangere
- Rostered days: 6 days/week (Mon-Sat)
- Shift timings: 06.30 AM to 03.00 PM OR 04.30 PM – 01.00 AM
The Job: In these roles, you will work with fresh produce (fruits and vegetables), pulling, weighing, and packing supplies, as well as assist in stocking and other warehouse duties. Your main tasks will include:
- Picking, weighing and packing orders
- Assisting in dispatching orders
- Cleaning, washing, and processing fresh produce
- Monitoring product quality before packaging by closely inspecting
- Operating machines to peel, core, slice, and dice fruits and vegetables
- Handling and restocking inventory
- Receiving and storing products
- Performing some heavy lifting (up to 20 kgs)
- Monitoring product quality by inspecting items before packaging
- Cleaning work areas and maintaining general housekeeping
- Strictly adhering to food safety standards and health and safety protocols
The Person:
We are looking for someone who can work independently to achieve results. Our Produce department operates in a temperature-controlled environment, so you should be comfortable in a cold setting and physically fit for some heavy lifting.
Ideal Candidates will:
- Have relevant experience in the fresh produce industry or warehousing/pick pack roles
- Previous work in a chiller and/or depot environment
- Reliable transport and flexibility with hours
- Clear communication skills
- A confident, flexible attitude with attention to detail
- Prior NZ experience and knowledge of basic food ingredients
- Be physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Possess intermediate literacy and numeracy skills
- Current forklift license beneficial
- Be hardworking, reliable, and demonstrate good work ethics
- Have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements
- Have reliable transport and the ability to attend shifts as and when required
