Our Process Engineering team at Waikato North Head Mine Site is looking for a permanent Laboratory Shift Technician to join the team.
What you will be doing
Based at our Waikato North Head site, you will be working as part of the Process Engineering team.
You will have a responsibility for:
- Performing and analyzing routine and non-routine chemical and physical testing and analyses of mining , process, and environment water samples in a timely and accurate manner.
- The safe operation of sample preparation and analysis equipment.
- Accurate record keeping, reporting, correct storage of samples and adherence to good laboratory management practices
- Calibration of laboratory equipment as per schedule.
- Handling hazardous and dangerous chemicals.
- Keeping up to date and contributing to laboratory management practises.
- Providing technical support, when necessary.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
Training of our internal laboratory operations practices will be provided on-site.
This is a permanent position.
What you will bring to the role
To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous processing and/or laboratory experience, a strong work ethic, and high attention to detail along with the following:
- Previous experience with sampling, recording, testing and analysis of samples
- Must Hold a Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related field
- Demonstrate operational and technical knowledge of laboratory testing and analysis equipment
- Excellent time and task management skills are required for the role responsibilities to be effective
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Laboratory working experience
