About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Addiction Specialist to join the Mental Health & Addiction services here in Te Tai Tokerau (Northland).

This exciting role is open to all senior medical practitioners with experience and interest in addictions practice and would ideally suit those interested in a small city and/ or beach lifestyle in beautiful Te Tai Tokerau.

This leadership role is a part of Te Tai Tokerau wider Mental Health and Addiction services, covering the entire district from around Wellsford to the North Cape.

We have recently reviewed our model of care - Nga Piringa Tikanga – a framework which outlines our approach to meet the needs of people in Te Tai Tokerau. The service is inclusive of Opioid Substance Treatment, Alcohol and Other Drugs and Te Ara Oranga which is a multi-agency programme which involves a high level of cooperation between police NGO and health services, tackling methamphetamine addiction in this district.

The role provides the opportunity to provide leadership and clinical expertise to a multidisciplinary team, with support for your professional development and plenty of opportunities to make a difference

About you

To be considered you must have or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in a Psychiatry Vocational scope of practice.

If you are currently overseas / not yet registered, we can assist you with the application process to obtain MCNZ registration.
