- Be part of a team driving change for a more sustainable future
- Work on innovative waste minimisation and resource recovery projects
- Engage directly with our community and industry to deliver practical and high-impact outcomes

About the Role
As a Resource Recovery Advisor, you'll play a key role in delivering the projects related to actions in our Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2023-2029. You'll work across council(s), with our contractors, and alongside community and industry partners to design, deliver, and improve waste minimisation and resource recovery initiatives.
You'll contribute to projects that help move our city up the waste hierarchy and reducing waste at the source, fostering behaviour change, and supporting solutions to help us move towards a circular economy.
This role offers real variety. One day you could be driving initiatives to reduce construction waste or helping the community make better use of organic materials. The next, you might be supporting projects to make our waste facilities more sustainable or turning waste data into insights that shape future policy.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination and delivery, ideally in waste minimisation, sustainability, or environmental management.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship building, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of waste management and minimisation practices, trends, and legislation (or the ability to quickly develop this).
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and see projects through from idea to implementation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.
