Mō te Tūranga – About the role
We're looking for an experienced Banker who is highly motivated and client-focused to join our award-winning Private Bank. You will partner with a Private Advisor to deliver exceptional client experiences and support the growth of valuable client relationships. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Your success will be measured by your ability to deliver exceptional client outcomes, support the growth of client relationships, and contribute to the achievement of business objectives.

As an Associate Private Banker, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our service proposition to High-Net-Worth Private Wealth clients. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, coordinating the delivery of client services, and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships. You will work closely with Executive Private Advisors, Private Advisors, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional client experiences and achieve business objectives. Your role will require a deep understanding of our clients' needs, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? – What do I need to be successful?
  • Proven experience in banking, private banking, or investment/wealth management, with a strong understanding of business and consumer lending products.
  • Advanced credit skills, with a solid background in complex lending such as trusts, and excellent financial numeracy, including the ability to interpret financial accounts and statements.
  • Strong client service background, with 4-5 years of experience in financial/banking services, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Power BI, Outlook, and Teams, as well as knowledge of Westpac lending systems and banking-related compliance.
