About the Role
As a Radiation Oncologist, you will join a dynamic and collaborative team delivering specialist care across Te Toka Tumai (Auckland) and Te Tai Tokerau (Northland). You’ll manage patients across identified tumour streams more specifically Breast, GU, Head & Neck, Haematology, and Palliative, and contribute to clinical improvement, multidisciplinary care, teaching, and research.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing regional model of care, with service expansion planned in Whangārei from 2026. You will play an important role in delivering high-quality radiation oncology services while also contributing to the development of regional equity and innovation in care delivery.
About the Team / Service / Location
Our Radiation Oncology team includes 23 Radiation Oncologists working in a well-resourced department offering comprehensive cancer care, including paediatrics, brachytherapy, and SABR. The service has strong academic ties to the University of Auckland and an active registrar training programme with 13 Radiation Oncology trainees.
About You
As a Radiation Oncologist, you will bring:
- Fellowship of the RANZCR Faculty of Radiation Oncology or equivalent
- Vocational registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Proven experience in one or more key tumour streams (Breast, GU, Head & Neck, Haematology, and Palliative)
- Skills in VMAT, SABR, and IGRT
- A collaborative, team-based approach with strong interest in research and service improvement
