Business Improvement Specialist - Central Region

We’re looking for a hands-on Business Improvement Specialist to join our Energy Services division for a 12-month fixed term based in Hamilton. This is a key role in the business where you'll partner with operational teams in the Transmission part of the business across the Central Region to lead improvement activities, build capability, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.


  • Leading and delivering end-to-end business improvement initiatives using LEAN Six Sigma and other methodologies
  • Identifying and implementing practical process improvements to lift performance, reduce inefficiencies, and streamline operations
  • Facilitating workshops, coaching teams, and driving operational excellence from the ground up
  • Build capability across the region by co-facilitating Yellow Belt training and mentoring teams through real improvement projects
  • Partnering with digital teams to introduce innovative solutions, including automation and AI
  • Travelling across the Central Region to work directly with frontline teams

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in process improvement, operational excellence, or business transformation either as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Proven experience in implementing operational excellence practices, process improvement, and leading hands-on projects
  • Confidence working across all levels from the frontline to leadership
  • Experience in process mapping tools (Visio) and data analysis
  • Willingness to travel across the Central Region
  • A background in the electricity, utilities or construction industry is desirable
