About the Role

We are seeking applications from experienced, motivated and detail-oriented Level 3 or above Clinical Coders with practical clinical coding experience using ICD10-AM 11th or 12th edition to join our team at Waitematā District on a casual, on-call basis. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of our health services.

Our team operates on a hybrid roster, with full remote options available for the right candidate.

About you

You’re an experienced Clinical Coder with a collaborative mindset, a positive outlook and strong work ethic.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Current clinical coding experience in ICD10-AM 12th Edition
  • HIMAA Clinical Coding Certificate or New Zealand-recognised equivalent
  • Solid understanding of Casemix systems and Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaboration approach
  • Demonstrated accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in applying clinical coding knowledge independently
