About the Role

  • Lead the community and specialist nursing teams in meeting the needs of our patients and whānau
  • Act as a clinical resource and advisor to community nursing staff including specialist nursing teams
  • Lead clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives in community nursing
  • Engage in service development and research to enhance community nursing services.
  • Partner with whānau and community providers to ensure equitable and accessible care.

The community and specialist nursing service provide a range of nursing services in the home, or closer to home, with the goal of promoting optimum health and independence for clients. You will be accountable for the nursing professional and practices standards, ensuring that the nursing staff safely and effectively meets the clinical nursing care needs of patients and their whānau.

You will be able to deal with challenging situations and changing environments, demonstrating high level communication, innovation, leadership skills and be strategically driven.

About you

  • New Zealand nursing registration, RGON, RN BHSc (Nursing)
  • Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in speciality nursing practice
  • Minimum of five years’ experience post registration
  • Working towards completions of Master’s Degree
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • Experience working with and/or leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Expert clinical practice
  • Capacity to innovate and motivate your team with vision and passion for Community Nursing
  • Strong, clear communication skills, with the ability to influence
