About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and skilled registered nurse to take the opportunity to work as an Associate Charge Nurse Manager in our Emergency Department.
In this senior leadership role, you will be working alongside a large multi-disciplinary team while prioritising and coordinating patient care. As part of this role, you are required to be at Expert nursing level or be working towards on the PDRP.

About the Service
Our Emergency Department is in a busy tertiary trauma 1- level hospital which provides care to approximately 76,000 patients annually including both children and adults. We have 5 dedicated RESUS bays as well as a separate paediatric zone to assess and treat patients for all specialties.
Due to the increasing population in the Waikato we are always looking to improve the services we deliver and are currently in the process of restructuring our department to help improve patient flow into the hospital.
As Associate Charge Nurse Manager (ACNM), you will be working alongside the Charge Nurse Manager and other ACNMs providing clinical leadership to your team of people.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Hold a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
- Demonstrate significant clinical experience (minimum of 5 years) working within a hospital emergency/ acute care setting
- Have completed post-graduate Certificate (or working towards)
- Have completed (or working towards) expert level of practice on the professional development and Recognition Programme and once in the role met senior nurse level of the PDRP
- Have been involved in change management, clinical audits, and quality initiatives
- that achieve a specific goal or outcome
- Have strong communication skills
- Demonstrate composure, maintain optimism and focus
- Have a commitment to self-development and the development of others
- Have strong teamwork ethos, and collaborative leadership approach
- Role mode integrity, resilience and adaptive, aware of self and impact on others.
