About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic pharmacist for a permanent part-time (16 hours per week) position of Medical Team Co-ordinator Pharmacist.
This role forms part of the clinical pharmacy service, with the position holder having a caseload of patients to provide Pharmaceutical services to, as well as supporting junior members of staff to provide care to their patients. The position holder provides some operational duties on a rostered basis and works closely with the Clinical Team leader and Surgical Team Coordinator Pharmacist to co-ordinate the coverage of Clinical Pharmacy services across the District.
The Medical Team Coordinator Pharmacist acts as a role model to other pharmacists and provides support, advice and education to the pharmacy department, as well as other healthcare professionals.
About the Team/Service Location
The pharmacy team is well respected by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management across the organisation, and is constantly looking at ways to improve the service and care it delivers. We provide a comprehensive pharmacy service throughout to the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District, which includes a clinical service, dispensary & logistics service, and a quality & risk service. There is also an aseptic production service at Capital & Coast Hospitals (Wellington & Kenepuru). Through these services, we aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of prescribing, supply and distribution of medicines throughout the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District. Our teams value professional growth, and emphasizes clinical development and medicines optimization for our patients.
About you
You will be enthusiastic and have a passion for pharmacy, and for training other healthcare staff. You will have previous hospital pharmacy experience and the ability to work with a variety of staff from different healthcare professions. We want to hear from you if you are self-motivated in developing your clinical and professional practice and are keen to learn about all aspects of hospital pharmacy. You will need to be registered as a pharmacist in NZ, or eligible to register.
