We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our frontline customer service team for a 12-month fixed term opportunity. We need you to be passionate about customer service and adaptable to be able to assist the many functions of the Customer Services Team.
Te āhuatunga a te tūranga | About the role
As the Customer Contact Advisor reporting to the Customer Services Team Leader you will:
- Deliver first point of contact information services, that are solutions-focussed and customer responsive with high quality outcomes produced in a timely manner.
- Deal confidently, professionally and sensitively with members of the public who seek information and advice.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with internal and external contacts, as appropriate; Consents (for first point of contact for consents applications), Compliance (for pollution prevention enquiries), Rates queries and Maritime.
- Continuously develop professional knowledge so that as many queries as possible can be resolved within the customer contact centre.
- Maintain and update Council’s knowledge base and customer relationship management systems. Provide cover and back up for the Customer Services Officers when necessary.
Ō pūmanawa | Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will be highly motivated, organised and have:
- Previous experience in an reception / administration role
- Reception and / or call centre experience advantageous
- Council Rating experience (queries and payments) advantageous
- Computer literacy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload
- A high level of communication skills (both written and oral)
- A “can-do” attitude
- Knowledge and/or interest in local government.
