About this role
We have an exciting opportunity for an incredible Customer Delivery Officer to join our team in Meremere library and service centre. You will need to commit to permanently working a 14-hour per week role, Monday 9am - 12noon, Wednesday 2pm - 5pm and Friday 8:30am - 5pm. From time to time, you may also be required to work at other Council/library sites throughout the district.
As a Customer Delivery Officer, you will be at the heart of our customer service operations, ensuring that residents, businesses, and other stakeholders receive timely and effective support. You will play a key role in delivering council services, addressing customer inquiries, and contributing to the continuous improvement of services to meet the needs of the community.

What I do
The purpose of this role is to deliver effective support to our community, with focus on delivering exceptional customer service as the interface between Waikato District Council and its customers. As part of this role, you will have a range of varied tasks including front-of-house and library services, as well as being an ambassador for our district. This includes actively promoting services related to recreation, education, and community engagement.
You will collaborate with team members to ensure seamless support across departments. Additionally, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of library collections and council spaces, ensuring they remain inviting for all visitors.
You'll be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest services, procedures, and policies within the library and council. This will allow you to provide accurate, and relevant information to customers.
What I bring
Ideally, you'll have at least 2 years work experience in a customer focused environment and strong interpersonal skills. You'll be a self-starter that really enjoys working in a fast paced team environment, focused on delivering outstanding customer service and have a "can do" attitude. You will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. Proficiency in using multiple software applications, including the Microsoft Suite, is essential, as well as the ability to work with computer systems simultaneously. An understanding of, or a desire to learn about, te ao Māori and tikanga is important. We also value those who have knowledge of, or are willing to gain an appreciation for, te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ture Whaimana.
