About the Role
We are looking for a detail-focused Data Integrity Administrator to join our Clinical Records team at Waitaha Canterbury. In this role, you will ensure that all patient information - both electronic and paper-based - meets the requirements of the Ministry of Health and the Privacy Act 2020.

Your work will be crucial in enabling us to meet internal operational needs, provide accurate reporting, and uphold our external accountability obligations. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, exceptional accuracy, and a passion for maintaining high standards of data quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and action enquiries from the Ministry of Health (NHI Identity Team).
  • Monitor and process daily Link Notification Reports and check for newly linked NHI numbers.
  • Manage temporary NHI use, ensuring correct linkage or confirmation as primary numbers.
  • Identify, investigate, and process duplicate or contaminated NHI registrations.
  • Maintain the accuracy and completeness of clinical records (electronic and paper-based).
  • Ensure consistency across all patient management systems.
  • Produce timely and accurate reporting on data integrity activities.
  • Respond to internal and external queries regarding patient information.
  • Provide cover for 22F Patient Information requests and Mental Health clerical processing as required.
  • Contribute to departmental improvements by reviewing and refining processes and procedures.

About You
You will bring:

  • Proven Clinical Records experience.
  • Expert-level PMS skills with strong knowledge of patient management systems.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A proven passion for data quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of the National Health Index (NHI) and related systems.
  • Understanding of the Health Privacy Code.
  • Previous experience in health or community health services.
  • High-level analytical and influencing skills.
