We are looking for an experienced and motivated Dispatch & Cartage Manager who’s ready to take charge of our North Island transport operations—leading teams, optimising resources, and delivering industry-leading service.

Reporting to the Head of Transport, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily transport dispatch and container cartage operations. You’ll lead a team of dispatchers and ensure efficient, safe, and compliant freight movements—maximising both customer satisfaction and fleet performance.

What You’ll Own

  • Day-to-day leadership of dispatch and container cartage operations across the North Island
  • Efficient coordination of drivers, fleet utilisation, and on-time delivery execution
  • KPI-driven performance in transport planning, compliance, and customer satisfaction
  • Building and leading a high-performing team of dispatchers and logistics professionals
  • Driving a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Continuous improvement of processes, systems, and cartage service delivery
  • What You Bring

  • 10+ years’ experience in transport or logistics operations, including dispatch and/or cartage
  • Proven leadership capability—able to develop teams and manage performance
  • Strong knowledge of NZTA regulations, port protocols, and compliance best practices
  • Commercially sharp, with experience in budgeting, billing, and cost control
  • Comfortable working at both the strategic and hands-on operational level
  • Clear communicator with the ability to manage change and solve problems on the go
