The future of Policing is built on code, powered by insight, and guided through innovation. At New Zealand Police we are looking for an experienced Software Domain Architect to shape and steer our digital transformation, collaboratively designing systems that will enable safer communities and smarter operations. This is a great opportunity to lead the modernisation of a large and complex fleet of systems that is pivotal to the safety of Aotearoa.

We need you to Architect:
Domain driven designs that enable the modernisation and simplification of our systems,
Scalable, secure software applications and design reusable patterns to leverage modern platforms to support frontline policing,
Integrated systems that enable us to respond to operational needs and develop our data intelligence,
Seamless collaboration with product managers, architects, designers, developers and police staff to bring requirements to reality

We are looking for a software domain architect with proven experience defining and delivering software architecture across large-scale systems. Someone who can lead architectural decision making and establish shared patterns, frameworks and domain specific governance. You will have proven experience planning, designing and overseeing the delivery of software architecture change, and work effectively as part of a wider architecture practice. An understanding of current technology and methods is key as well as good communication skills to enable effective collaboration with product owners and solution architects.

This role is based in the Wellington area. Some travel may be required.

Security Clearance Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you may be asked to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:

NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:

A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or

A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years : Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.
