Ara Whiwhi Mahi | The Opportunity
CCS PD&D are responsible for delivering legislative tax and social policy changes, as well as other enterprise priorities. We are seeking a Domain Principal to join our Design Delivery domain to provide business analysis capability to support the delivery of our change work programme.
Our Design Delivery domain ensures change is planned and delivered in a joined-up way for CCS. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic analysis, working with internal customers to understand current and future state needs, eliciting requirements, and supporting the implementation of solutions that deliver long-term value. To do this, you will need to work closely with the Domain Principal – Release Planning as well as a wide range of stakeholders from across IR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis activities across a range of initiatives including a number of key initiatives over a longer-term horizon.
- Responsible for eliciting, documenting and managing business requirements across the early phases of initiatives, including traceability and refinement.
- Assess and define current and future states and carry out gap analysis
- Translate data analysis and intelligence into useable information to inform quality decision making
- Work together with technology and business architects to explore potential solutions through strategic and options analysis, including costs and benefits
- Identify and document risks, constraints and dependencies and incorporate these into planning and decision making
- Develop concept documents and funding proposals for senior leadership
- Support traceability to ensure the design of scope items are aligned end-to-end and adhere to business rules.
- Actively engage and manage relationships across CCS PD&D and with wider IR stakeholders, including design governance forums.
- Work with the Domain Principal – Release Delivery and Domain Principal-Release Planning, to ensure alignment across release planning and release delivery in a repeatable and scalable way.
- Provide support to lift capability across the networked release team.
About you | Mōu
To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess the following skills and capabilities:
- Experience in business analysis activities, techniques and documentation, including documentation for governance forums, across the early concept phases of initiatives.
- Advanced stakeholder management, experience in dealing with policy teams and design governance forums (Customer Advisory).
- Experienced business analysis practitioner with prior experience at applying business analysis-based thinking and techniques, to translate business and stakeholder requirements, and legislation/policy, into end-to-end system and process design across complex domains. (Design and Integration)
- Ability to work through large, complex issues and use governance structures effectively to enable quality decisions (Quality Decision Making).
- Advanced communication and engagement skills.
- Experienced in designing and facilitating workshops to identify and achieve outcomes with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, highly focused and know how to empower and mentor others effectively. You use your expertise to coach and mentor other team members, growing their capability to achieve better outcomes.
