Waiapu Kids St Matthew’s is an early learning centre deeply committed to respectful, bi cultural child-led learning. We nurture an environment that encourages exploration, imagination and growth – where tamariki and whānau flourish together, guided by our vision of te oranga ake.
We are looking for an energetic ECE Team Leader to join our team on a permanent basis working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

- Has a natural ability to confidently lead a team fostering a positive team culture
- Is passionate about creating inspiring learning spaces for tamariki to grow
- Has strengths in creating thoughtful individual learning plans and internal evaluation
- Can build strong and lasting relationships with whānau and the wider community

Skills, Experience and Attributes
To be successful you will have:
- A qualification in early childhood or primary education, and current NZ teacher registration and certification
- The ability to demonstrate and implement Te Tiriti-based practice
- Understanding of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori or a willingness to grow in this area
- Sound understanding of Te Whāriki and proven ability to assess and plan for children’s learning.
- NZ work rights
The ECE Team Leader will play a key role in assisting to shape high-quality learning experiences, strengthening teaching practice, and fostering collaborative team culture. This is a key leadership position, and finding the right person to lead and inspire is essential.
