Auckland University of Technology (AUT) AUT is proud to be one of the world's best modern universities. Here at AUT, we make a difference to thousands of students every day and contribute to improving Aotearoa New Zealand through high-impact research and discovery. Would you like to play a part in this powerful work for positive change by joining our employability team?
- Full time 12-month fixed term role covering AUT's three campuses
- Are you passionate about students' futures?
- Are you a great communicator who loves working in a busy, fast paced environment?
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This role forms an integral part of our Employability team based in our state-of-the-art Employability Lab on the city campus. This modern, open area is the hub where AUT students come for a full range of future employment and career advice and support, preparing them for everything that a graduate needs to be ready for the workforce, outside of their degree.
By using existing job market expertise and 'getting' what the market wants in a graduate these days, this role will involve regularly meeting students face-to-face and through a mix of coaching, interview recording and analysis, workshop delivery, presentations and anything else needed to help the students before they leave University, helping AUT to continue to deliver the most employable and 'job ready' graduates in New Zealand. You will also manage and develop a faculty portfolio, introducing and developing employability within specific schools and equity groups.
Ko wai koe | About you
We're looking for experience in the tertiary sector, ideally a university, and someone who is excited by AUT's approach to employability. A thorough understanding of the 'real' job market and what's happening out in the business world, along with an ability to connect easily and comfortably with the students will be critical. You'll combine this with an understanding of what students think these days and know how to best engage them. Applicants must possess a minimum qualification of an undergraduate degree.
Key to this role is your professional approach, relevant experience and demonstrable aptitude in career pathways and your communication skills. You will have the chance to make an immense impact on the lives of graduates and their chances to secure future employment.
