About the role:
We’re on the lookout for an experienced and solutions-focused Event Manager to join the team at Spark Arena on a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Head of Events, this senior role is pivotal in delivering world-class events while ensuring seamless ticketing operations and exceptional client service.
You’ll oversee the planning and execution of events across the arena, working closely with promoters, hirers, contractors, and patrons to ensure every detail is managed to the highest standard. Ticketing is a major focus, and you’ll act as the key contact with Ticketmaster, ensuring sales are optimised and the fan experience is first-class from purchase to show day.
Leading a small events team, you’ll provide clear guidance and support, while also managing relationships across Spark Arena’s departments and external partners. What you’ll be doing:
- Ticketing Management : Oversee on-sale requirements, liaise with Ticketmaster, monitor sales performance, and manage post-event reporting.
- Client Relationships : Build strong connections with promoters, hirers, and key stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met from planning to delivery.
- Event Delivery : Manage all Front of House operations, including security, ushers, contractors, and presentation standards across the venue.
- Team Leadership : Supervise, roster, train, and appraise the events team, ensuring high performance and alignment with Spark Arena standards.
- Operational Excellence : Coordinate across departments to deliver smooth event logistics, accurate public information, and exceptional customer experience.
- Health & Safety : Take an active leadership role in health and safety planning, compliance, inductions, and emergency procedures.
- Continuous Improvement : Monitor industry best practice and implement process improvements to maintain Spark Arena’s reputation for excellence.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven Experience : At least 5 years in senior event management within a large venue or large-scale event environment.
- Ticketing Knowledge : Strong understanding of ticketing systems and processes, ideally with TM1 and large-scale venues.
- Front of House Expertise : Hands-on knowledge of FOH operations including staff, contractors, and patron experience.
- Health & Safety Training : Knowledge of crowd and emergency management, with a commitment to safe work practices.
- Leadership Skills : Experience leading and developing teams in high-pressure, event-driven environments.
- Technical Capability : Confident using event management software, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
- Industry Passion : A strong interest in live events and the drive to deliver exceptional experiences for fans.
