Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a physical on-site survey and set out works to enable the progress of projects.
- Use modern surveying equipment and software to collect, manage, and interpret site data accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in preparing survey plans, site set-outs, as-built drawings, and digital records in line with project specifications and industry best practices.
- Collaborate productively with project managers, engineers, construction crews, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental practice at all times, proactively identifying risks and taking corrective action where needed.
- Participate in regular progress reporting and keep detailed records of work undertaken.
- Support continuous improvement by embracing new technologies and innovations in survey methodologies.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Qualities for the Fixed Term (18 months) Surveyor Role
- Relevant qualification in surveying, civil engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
- Previous experience in civil construction surveying is essential.
- Good understanding of modern survey tools such as total stations, GPS systems, and related processing software.
- Attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow plans accurately.
- Effective communication skills with a commitment to working inclusively in diverse project teams.
- A positive attitude toward safety, quality, and continuous learning.
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 1).
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required.
