Job Description
As a Food & Beverage attendant, you will have the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of our guests by making their dining occasions truly unforgettable.
With a combination of breakfast, lunch and dinner service, this role has plenty of variety.
You'll work alongside the Food and Beverage Team to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Primary responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests, assist with enquiries and restaurant bookings.
- Assist guests with menu offerings and maximise sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
- Effectively take orders and ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests.
- Input orders promptly ensuring the kitchen can fulfill their duties effectively.
- Ensure that dockets are written clearly and correctly for inputting into the POS (point of sale) system.
- Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly to maintain temperature and appearance; ensure items are announced.
- Be knowledgeable of and operate within the Food Safety Program (e.g. Awareness of allergies and dietary requirements)
- Maintain hygienic food service techniques at all times.
- Maintain clean and neat presentation of bar and restaurant area(s), following set opening, closing and daily procedures.
- Take responsibility for your designated section and station.
- Promptly answer the telephone and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
- Involved in the service of a variety of functions and events.
- Setup and reset specific Conference & Function activities as directed.
- Be knowledgeable of and operate within appropriate outlet and hotel liquor licensing guidelines and House Management Policies.
- Maintain currency of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, amendments and updates and adhere to RSA principles. Notify your manager/supervisor if you require assistance
Qualifications
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Previous experience in food and beverage, bar, barista, or hotel service roles is preferred but not essential
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- A friendly and professional attitude with a passion for hospitality and delivering great guest experiences
- Comfortable operating coffee machines or working behind a bar (training can be provided)
- A team player who can adapt to a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Physically able to be on your feet for extended periods and lift/carry light trays or equipment
- Flexibility to work a rotating 7 day roster with shifts that may start as early as 6am or finish late at night
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
