We’re looking for an experienced Line Mechanic Foreperson to join our Auckland Overhead Maintenance team. In this role, you’ll lead a crew to deliver construction and maintenance work on overhead electrical lines safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You’ll play an important role in planning and scoping jobs, providing technical guidance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while supporting your team’s development and maintaining strong relationships with clients, landowners, and service providers.
- Lead a team to deliver safe and efficient overhead line construction and maintenance work.
- Scope, plan, and manage jobs, allocating people, plant, and materials effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Provide technical support, supervise daily work, and encourage continuous improvement.
- Complete audits, inspections, and necessary documentation accurately and on time.
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with Northpower’s values and behaviours.
- ERWB Registration (essential)
- NZ driver’s licence (Class 2 or higher preferred)
- Solid experience in overhead line work and construction/maintenance practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A proven commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
- The physical capability to work in the field and support your team hands-on
