Mō te tūnga | About the role

Are you a professional, people-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy being the first point of contact and making a positive impression on behalf of an organisation?

We are seeking a Frontline Station Support Officer to join our newly established in-house reception and access control team at Police National Headquarters (PNHQ). This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality front-of-house services and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for all visitors and staff.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Frontline Station Support, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated team supporting the transition from contracted services to a professional in-house model.

Key Accountabilities:
Provide a professional and welcoming reception service for all visitors, contractors, and staff.
Manage building access protocols, including issuing access cards and verifying entry permissions.
Maintain accurate records and support administrative tasks related to visitor management and security.
Collaborate with the Team Leader and wider National Command and Coordination Centre (NCCC) to ensure seamless service delivery.
Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold Police values in all interactions.

He aha taau e kawe mai | What you’ll bring

Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Confidence in managing front-of-house responsibilities and responding to dynamic situations.
High level of reliability, professionalism, and discretion.
Competence in Microsoft Office and other administrative systems.
Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Previous experience in reception, security, or administrative roles is beneficial but not essential — we’re looking for people with the right attitude and potential to grow.
