We’re looking for a talented Graphic Designer to craft compelling strategic documents, campaigns, and reports that communicate important Council initiatives and inspire community engagement. You’ll produce high-quality visual content across print and digital platforms, ensuring brand consistency while working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.
This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented designer with a sharp eye, strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, and a passion for clear, impactful communication.
Te Āheinga - The Opportunity
- Design and deliver high-quality visual content — including strategic documents, reports, campaigns, and infographics that clearly communicate Council initiatives and engage the community.
- Manage projects from concept to completion — working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to meet deadlines and maintain brand consistency.
- Support a wide range of design needs — from document formatting and layout to illustrations and digital assets, across both print and digital platforms.
- Be part of a collaborative, creative team — contributing ideas, reviewing work, and helping deliver clear, cohesive communication across the organisation.
He kōrero mōhou - About You
- A skilled designer with a relevant qualification and at least 2 years’ experience
- Confident using Adobe Creative Suite to produce high-quality work across print and digital
- Detail-focused, creative, and able to manage multiple projects under pressure
- A great communicator who works well with others and keeps things on track

This is a six-month, fixed-term, part-time opportunity covering for a period of parental leave, ending mid-February 2025.
You’ll be working 20 hours per week between Monday – Friday (pattern of work negotiable), based in Napier’s CBD.
Remuneration for this role is between $68,500 - $80,600 (full-time equivalent and including KiwiSaver), depending on your skills and experience.
We will be interviewing applications as we receive them and may close the role when we have found the right person.
