Taitara Mahi - Intermediate Graphic Designer, Libraries

Hastings District Libraries are vibrant community hubs, committed to meeting the informational, recreational, and cultural needs of our people. We’re seeking a talented, organised, and imaginative designer to help visually communicate our services and events to the public.
We are looking for an Intermediate Graphic Designer to bring creativity and expertise to our Libraries team. Known for your high-quality work and ability to deliver, you’ll play an integral role in helping us connect with our community.
In this role, you’ll create compelling visual materials that promote our programmes, services, and collections. Your work will include designing flyers, brochures, social media graphics, website banners, and other promotional assets.
The successful candidate will have:
- Hands on graphic design experience
- Proven proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Strong knowledge of print design processes, with the ability to manage projects from concept to final delivery
- Experience designing social media assets (e.g. reels) is a plus
- A creative mindset with the ability to turn ideas into practical, innovative solutions
- Initiative and the ability to thrive in a team environment
- A calm and professional approach under pressure
