Job Description

The Fulton Hogan Life

Life at Fulton Hogan is about making the most of the opportunities, taking responsibility, having a crack, being accountable and making it happen. We live by our REAL values – Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude, Leadership – and we demonstrate these through the good work we do, every day, as one team.

Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau | Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family

The Ōtaki to North Levin project focuses on upgrading the transport link along State Highway 1 (SH1) between Ōtaki and North Levin to improve road safety, reduce congestion, enhance travel efficiency, and support regional economic growth. It is one of the Government’s Roads of National Significance and is being undertaken by two Alliances – the north (delivered by partners Fulton Hogan, HEB, WSP and Aurecon) and south (delivered by partners Downer, McConnell Dowell, Beca and Tonkin+Taylor).

This exciting new four-lane 24.8km highway project will dramatically improve safety and resilience, providing better access to walking and cycling facilities for those moving around or through the Horowhenua and Kāpiti districts. The project includes multiple large complex bridge structures plus a full interchange at Taraua Road, a half interchange north at Taylors Road, two roundabouts and approximately 4m m3 of complex earthworks significant, drainage infrastructure and a structural asphalt concrete pavement.

In partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and the Horowhenua District Council, this project will be executed through a two-alliance approach. Each alliance will be responsible for delivering a section of the road and associated works, ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive delivery.

All alliance partners are committed to creating a positive legacy for the region. This is your opportunity to be part of something extraordinary. Join us in shaping the future of transport in the region.

Fulton Hogan is committed to ensuring people work within a culture of positive health and safety, with the processes, tools and training they need to consistently operate safely while meeting the needs of our business and project requirements. Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, you will be key in developing and leading a project culture that holds safety as a core value.

In this role you will have the opportunity to liaise with a range of stakeholders, with the intention of ensuring that all works undertaken on-site meet national legislative standards, ensuring that everyone on site is competent, capable and equipped to carry out their roles. You will be working with some of the best in the business and will be given mentoring opportunities and the chance to grow in your role.

Our ideal candidate is a Health and Safety professional who is passionate about people, maintaining safety standards as well as developing methods for the prevention of LTI’s in a Civil Construction environment.
