About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced, adaptable internal sales professional to join our Southland team. This isn’t a standard internal sales role – we’re looking for someone who can confidently step up to support two sites, provide cover when required, and act as a go-to person when the Site Leader is away.
What you’ll do
- Handle inbound calls and emails promptly and professionally
- Prepare and process quotes and orders with accuracy
- Follow up with customers to ensure requests are fully met
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
- Support stock control and inventory tasks as required
- Provide seamless support across both Invercargill sites (Aluminium and Stainless)
- Take ownership of daily priorities and help coordinate site operations
- Act as a reliable backup for the Site Leader, keeping operations running smoothly in their absence
Requirements
- Solid experience in internal sales or customer service within a trade, distribution, or industrial setting
- Proven adaptability — organised, proactive, and comfortable when plans change
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to take initiative and set the right example
- A team-focused attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- A warm, professional manner — both over the phone and in person
- The ability to perform well under pressure and stay organised in busy periods
- Good computer literacy (intermediate level or above)
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
