Eurofins Food and Water Testing New Zealand provides range of class leading food, water, plant, soil and fertilizer testing, as well as environmental and horticultural services and technical solutions, primarily to the New Zealand market. Job Description
We have a permanent full-time position available for an experienced Laboratory Analyst to work from Tuesday to Saturday within the Organic Chemistry section of our Chemistry team at Eurofins ELS in Wellington, and we are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity.
The purpose of the role is to carry out accurate analysis of soil and water samples as required by the customer. Commercial Laboratory testing background is preferred.
Key Position Objectives:
Reporting to the Chemistry Laboratory Manager the role will focus on but is not limited to:
- Prepare samples for analysis by mixing, blending and weighing, in accordance with sample/analysis requirements and preparation methods
- Operate, calibrate and maintain equipment/instruments as required
- Complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions.
- Good knowledge of chemistry tests, including VOC, SVOC, PFAS, PCB, pesticides and others.
Qualifications
- Certificate / Diploma in Laboratory Techniques; or equivalent qualification; or significant laboratory experience.
- Experience in a commercial laboratory will be an advantage.
- Experience with LC/MS-MS and GC/MS-MS is required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
- Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Must have a valid NZ work visa or be a NZ resident
