Mo te tūranga | About the Role
As Manager - Financial Crime Analytics, you'll be at the heart of ASB's data-driven defence against financial crime. This is a high-impact role where your analytical expertise will shape the future of our Transaction Monitoring programme.
- You'll support the delivery of Line 2 reporting and the strategic evolution of our transaction monitoring capabilities. Your work will involve translating complex regulatory and operational needs into actionable insights, refining data pipelines, and applying advanced techniques to model and build complex use case detection.
- You'll be responsible for ensuring our models and systems are compliant, optimised, and well-documented. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders, CBA representatives, and third-party vendors to deliver innovative solutions, while maintaining strong relationships with the Financial Crime Platform and adjacent analytics teams.

We're looking for someone who brings:
- Advanced experience in data analytics, including statistical modelling and data science.
- Proficiency in SQL and other tools to analyse large, complex data sets.
- Knowledge of Financial Crime and/or Fraud (advantageous).
- Experience with network analytics, graph theory, or natural language processing (beneficial).
- Strong continuous improvement mindset and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to manage a dynamic workload across operational and advanced analytics delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical information to non-subject matter experts.
- Project and change management experience.
- Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, or similar (preferred).
