Heretaunga Seniors is a trusted and welcoming community centre for older people. We offer enriching day programmes, social connection and pastoral care. Our environment encourages, creativity, connection and equity – underpinned by our vision of te oranga ake – flourishing together.
As the Programme Manager, you’ll be the kaitiaki of this unique service, leading a team of passionate programme assistants and volunteers in creating experiences and connections led with aroha, rongo and hari. You’ll be supported by the GM, Community Services and a collaborative network of Programme Managers at our two other locations.
This is a permanent role working 32 hours per week.
You’ll be a natural leader who:
- Is passionate about empowering others and fostering a positive workplace culture
- Brings strong operational leadership – from staffing and compliance to financial oversight, and building strong community and whānau connections.
- Has a strong understanding of the needs of older people, running day programmes and client management systems.

To be successful you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in management, health or other related discipline
- Proven leadership and day programme experience
- A current driver’s license
- A passion for building strong community and whānau connections
- Commitment to Te Tiriti based practice, Te Reo and Tikanga Māori or a willingness to grow in this space

Heretaunga Seniors is part of Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW) – the social services arm of Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. ACW provides faith-based services to children, young people families/whānau and older people throughout Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, Hawke’s Bay, and Tararua. The successful applicant will foster an environment that reflects the values and mission of ACW.
