Job Description
Do yourself a power of good
Join Vector and make a difference – for the world, your community, and yourself. Whatever your role, you’ll help tackle global challenges while improving the lives of 1.7 million Aucklanders.
The role
On offer: a rare opportunity to implement strategic analytics (preferably using machine learning) at New Zealand’s largest electricity distributor, and drive forward our AI transition.
The Programme Reporting and Analytics Specialist is responsible for delivering high quality reporting, analytics and insights to support programme delivery and strategic decision-making. The role plays a critical part in optimising long-term delivery programmes by enabling effective resource allocation and informing the organisation’s approach to the market.
It is also responsible for driving systems modernisation to ensure tools and platforms remain fit-for-purpose, efficient and aligned with organisational needs. In addition, the role provides vital support for meeting regulatory and legislative compliance requirements through accurate, timely and transparent reporting.
A key focus of the role is enabling and sustaining a strong self-service reporting culture through the development and delivery of onboarding and training, ensuring users are confident in using systems, tools and data effectively.
Through AI-enabled analysis, robust systems support and continuous improvement, the position ensures data integrity, enhances programme performance and empowers reporting capabilities across the organisation, supporting a higher level of collaboration, cross-functional engagement, and team-based decision-making.
Who are we looking for?
We envision you’ll have:
- A tertiary qualification in business analytics, project management, engineering, information systems or similar
- A wealth of experience in programme or portfolio reporting, analytics, or project controls in a complex delivery environment
- Experience designing, developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools, with the ability to transform complex data into meaningful insights
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, particularly related to system enhancements or reporting automation
- Experience leading user training, onboarding and support for reporting tools and system
- Prior experience with SAP, PowerBI and/or Project Online is a bonus.
You’ll also be effective working in Agile and Value Stream environments, collaborating effectively face-to-face.
