  • Flexibility of casual work - great work life balance
  • Work creatively with our Recreation Team Leader to plan activities for our Elders

Mō mātou - About us

Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island. Our Enliven residential services create age-friendly communities where people are happy and thrive, regardless of their age or ability. Our homes and villages are places where older people have companionship, choice, variety, fun, meaningful activity and a sense of purpose.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

This role is on a casual basis - we are looking for someone to fill in and pick up day shifts as needed across our Wellington Homes. As a Recreation Officer, you will plan and facilitate individual recreation plans for residents, as well as the recreation programmes. This involves running daily activities with staff and volunteers, planning the social calendar for the home and supporting our residents to pursue their interests. You will encourage residents to maintain their independence, learn new skills and maintain connections with their community.

The key aspects of the role are:

  • Resident service delivery that provides a rich and diverse experience
  • Driving and transportation of residents
  • Ensuring outings and activities are well planned and Health and Safety protocols followed

Mō koe - About You

Passionate about the wellbeing of older people, you are enthusiastic but patient; well-organised with great interpersonal skills. You share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. We are looking for:

  • A genuine interest in supporting the Recreational activities in our Home
  • A qualification in Diversional Therapy is preferred, or alternatively a minimum Level 2 NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing coupled with care assistant experience.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, ability to listen to people and work with them to support their needs
  • Administration experience with some computer literacy
  • Full, clean New Zealand driver’s license
  • Some experience working with elders would be advantageous

Mahi mo tatou - Working for us

Enliven offers a compassionate environment where upskilling and training are highly valued. You will also enjoy:

  • Hourly rate from $24.08 to $32.30 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Progressive pay steps that recognise your qualifications
  • Access to discounted healthcare cover and free employee assistance programme
  • We also have discounts with major NZ retailers across the country

As a values-based organisation that cares about our staff as much as we do about our residents, we support everyone who becomes a part of the Enliven family. Find out more about what makes us such a great place to live and work. APPLY NOW!
