- Te Waipounamu Region
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.
About the Role
The Regional Group Manager Delivery is a senior leadership role within the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG), responsible for overseeing the delivery of health infrastructure projects across the Te Waipounamu Region. This includes leading cross functional project teams, ensuring successful delivery within agreed timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.
This is a strategic and operational role that requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of infrastructure delivery in complex environments.
About the Team/Service/Location
The IIG team is focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Providing support, oversight, and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit-for-purpose health facilities, sites, and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
About You
You're someone who thrives in complex environments. You've led large scale infrastructure projects before and know how to keep things moving. You're strategic, but also hands on when needed, and you understand how to bring people together to get things done.
You're a natural relationship builder who communicates clearly and builds trust quickly. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity and change, and you bring a strong sense of purpose to your work.
You'll bring a wealth of experience in infrastructure and construction delivery, ideally in complex or public sector environments. You've led high performing teams, managed significant budgets, and delivered results that make a real difference.
You will bring:
- 10+ years' experience in infrastructure and construction delivery, including project/programme delivery and financial management.
- Proven leadership experience, including leading senior staff and building high-performing teams.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with experience managing relationships in complex environments.
- A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, and a commitment to equity and partnership.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Experience in managing large scale, complex project portfolios and delivering strategic outcomes.
