AUT's Research Ethics Office plays an essential role ensuring AUT delivers on its ambition to undertake high quality ethical research and this role is fundamental to ensuring our university's research ethics and processes are fit for purpose and appropriate.
About the role
In this role, you will be providing specialist advisory services to the University research community. As part of a transformation project you will be contributing to a review of the ethics processes, guideline/policy development culminating in an online ethics approval management system. You will support the AUTEC committee through the provision of advisory input. You will be up to date in the health research ethics space, legislation and contemporary ethical issues. You will also work closely with academics, the ethics representatives, and other units across the University in the development of research support resources.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for an experienced research ethics candidate, this could be from the tertiary education sector or the private sector, in another tertiary ethics role or ethics applications in private institutions.
You will have
- 5 years experience in research ethics preferably in a tertiary institution
- Ideally experience building an online submission process and written standard operating procedures as a companion document
- Knowledge and experience of research ethics involving human participants
- A deep knowledge of the national and local environment of ethics in New Zealand
- Excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people

Salary Range: $108,000 - $119,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
