About the Role

This role is primarily an educator role working alongside an experienced group of educators. The role may require you to work in both of our training units - Wellington Regional Hospital and Hutt Hospital, with occasional travel to Porirua or Kāpiti as agreed. The portfolio focusses on high quality resuscitation education at all levels, as well as patient deterioration recognition and response, scenario-based teaching, and at times, in-situ education. You may have the opportunity to contribute to policy development, audit, and reporting. The salary is NZNO MECA Snr RN Grade 1 Step 1-2 $114,025 - $121,444/PSA Allied Scientific and Technical Designated A Steps 1-2 $111,240 - 117,420

About the Team/Service/Location

The person or people appointed will join an enthusiastic and passionate multidisciplinary group of educators as part of the district-wide Simulation Service, all committed to a safe and positive workplace. You will be seen as a credible and knowledgeable professional and educator, with experience supporting and developing others. Please note this position may require you to travel to Kenepuru and Kapiti on occasion.

About you

We are looking for people who are excited and skilled to

  • Deliver high quality, engaging, implementable education to a varied audience
  • Support resuscitation standards to be met through CPR training, early recognition of the deteriorating patient training and instructing NZRC for nursing, midwifery, allied health and medical staff (if accredited)
  • Support the resuscitation education programme delivery
  • Be a clear communicator, team player, and positive contributor
  • Participate in policy review, quality audits and reporting

The training roster is planned in advance and will accommodate employees - other commitments where possible. The role could suit someone working in a rostered and rotating reduced FTE role, who has flexibility when notice is provided.
