The Role
Asteron is on the lookout for a seasoned Risk & Compliance Manager to champion our enterprise-wide risk and compliance initiatives. This is a strategic role that partners closely with business units to embed a culture of integrity, accountability, and sound decision-making. You’ll provide tailored advice, lead training programs, and ensure our operations align with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Working alongside the Head of Risk and the Head of Regulatory & Compliance, you’ll be instrumental in shaping Asteron’s risk posture and driving continuous improvement across our frameworks and practices.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain Asteron’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, policies, and standards.
Identify, assess, monitor, and report on strategic, operational, financial, and emerging risks.
Collaborate with business units to embed risk and compliance into everyday decision-making.
Develop and enhance risk policies, procedures, and tools to support effective governance.
Deliver insightful risk reporting to the Leadership Team and Risk Committees.
Oversee incident management, including root cause analysis and remediation planning.
Provide expert advice and oversight on regulatory compliance, breaches, and obligations.
Support business units in meeting legal and regulatory requirements through control development and implementation.
Execute control testing plans and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies.
Conduct risk assessments for business changes and initiatives.
Promote a strong risk culture through training, awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related discipline.
In-depth knowledge of compliance obligations in the life insurance sector, including COFI, IPSA, and the Contracts of Insurance Act.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in risk and compliance, ideally within financial services or insurance.
Strong grasp of enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.
Analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and perform under pressure.
Proficiency in risk management systems and reporting tools.
