What’s the mahi?
Join us in shaping a more equitable, sustainable future for Aotearoa New Zealand, where people, places, and businesses thrive for generations to come. A bold transformation is underway in how we invest in, design, deliver and manage the infrastructure that underpins our nation’s wellbeing. You’ll be at the heart of it, helping to create better schools and hospitals, revolutionise the water sector, decarbonise industries, and bring major national infrastructure projects to life. Your work will make a lasting impact, not just for today, but for the future of Aotearoa.
How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?
We are a team of Infrastructure professionals who support government and private sector clients who are major asset owners or infrastructure providers. We help our clients solve problems, improve service delivery, make significant investment decisions, and deliver major projects.
We value people who are adaptable to working across different disciplines and clients, but also bring strong foundational skill sets that are relevant to infrastructure consulting. As an experienced consultant in our team, you will play a role in supporting junior team members, and leading work for our clients with the support of our senior leaders.
Here are the key things you will do to deliver advice that matters.
- Work with our key clients to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, supporting project and program development for critical infrastructure investments
- Contribute to economic or financial analysis, infrastructure business case development, or strategic asset management
- Maintain and further develop relationships with a range of clients and critical internal and external stakeholders
- Support a pipeline of future opportunities including managing proposals and pursuits for key clients
- Help to grow our business case capability and/or our asset strategy capability as part of our broader Infrastructure Advisory offering
What are we for looking from you?
Alongside your industry experience in similar role, you may also have:
- A track record of project delivery in a consulting or client environment
- Exposure across all phases of the project lifecycle, with depth in project initiation, appraisal, and business case development and/or asset management planning to ensure assets are operated and maintained effectively over the long term
- A strong understanding of typical asset owner strategic objectives and how infrastructure investment can enable their realisation, influencing key decisions and long-term planning
- The ability to think strategically and influence and build trust with stakeholders
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Engineering (potentially conjoint with Finance or Commerce), Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field such as Arts/Humanities
This role will suit consulting professionals with approximately 5-10 years’ experience looking to take the next step in their career. We also know that not everyone wants to work full-time, and we offer the ability to be flexible in hours and work because work-life balance is valued at Aurecon. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for infrastructure and its role in shaping resilient, sustainable communities.
