What’s the mahi?

Design the Future of Aotearoa, Join Us as an Electrical Engineer

Ready to shape skylines and create a legacy? We’re looking for an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Wellington or Christchurch Buildings team, a group known for delivering innovative, high-impact electrical solutions across Aotearoa.

Whether you’re passionate about creating smarter healthcare spaces, reimagining public infrastructure, or driving sustainability in commercial buildings, we’ve got projects that will excite and challenge you.

In Wellington, you’ll contribute to a series of iconic new buildings that will help shape the city’s future and identity.
In Christchurch, you’ll support a region that’s redefining itself with resilience, innovation, and a bold vision for the future.

Wherever you're based, you’ll be part of a tight-knit national team that collaborates closely across regions and disciplines, and you’ll have direct access to some of the best minds across Australia and the Aurecon global network. That means world-class expertise, ground breaking tools, and exposure to projects you won’t find anywhere else in New Zealand.

This is more than just a role, it’s a chance to work on projects that leave a legacy for all of Aotearoa.

Key Responsibilities:

Join our team and advance your career by collaborating with technical experts on diverse projects. You'll gain invaluable experience, learn from industry leaders, and develop the skills to grow into future leadership roles.

What are we looking for from you?

The ideal candidate will have the following:

What’s in it for me?
You will be part of a team that is large enough that you will have access to local industry leading experts and world leading expertise. And yet small enough that you will have plenty of opportunities for you to stand out. This is a brilliant opportunity to take your career to the next level.

You really can bring your whole self to work and be confident that your voice will be heard. We don't just claim that we're inclusive and innovative, it's proven by the independent awards and accreditations we have gained, and we're always seeking new ways to prove (and improve!) our commitment to diversity.

We offer a range of industry leading, people-first policies and benefits. From extended parental leave to the ability to working while abroad, maintaining a healthy work / life balance is a priority for all of our staff.

We were the first engineering company in Aotearoa to receive the Rainbow Tick in 2018, and we have maintained this certification ever since. In May 2023 we were the first engineering company in Aotearoa to receive the Gender Tick, led by our people for our people. To date, we are the only engineering company to have both!

Our Māori strategy (He Rautaki Māori) won two Good Design awards in 2022 for its outstanding contribution in bringing Te Āo Māori and digital innovation into operations and decision-making processes.

On top of this, you will have access to competitive remuneration, a 4% employer contribution to KiwiSaver, flexible work hours and locations, working holidays, and remote work options. Outside of work, you will be further supported with benefits such as highly competitive paid parental leave, cultural holiday swaps, one of the best employee (and their family) wellbeing platforms in the country, and more!

Ready to bring ideas to life?

Then please apply now! We are an equitable-opportunity employer that values diverse perspectives and the contribution that every one of our people makes to our culture. Put simply, we want you to bring your whole self!

We know that people from historically or currently marginalised backgrounds are less likely to apply for roles where they don't match all the advertisement criteria exactly - if this advert has piqued your interest and your experience may not align fully then we still want to hear from you and encourage you to apply. Remember, it's your potential and how you bring ideas to life which are important.

Your background, unique needs, and individuality are valued here. We are committed to ensuring that you are well supported so that our recruitment process is fair, equitable, inclusive, and available to everyone. Please let us know what adjustments or support you need to make the recruitment process more accessible to you.

Whakahā ngā whakaaro / Breathing life into our ideas, thoughts, views
Kia māia, kia kaha, mahi tahi / Be bold, be strong, work as one
