The Opportunity

We’re looking for a talented and detail-focused Senior PCB Designer to join our Devices Team. In this role, you will design printed circuit boards for Gallagher’s cutting-edge security products, helping ensure manufacturability, compliance, and robust performance at scale.

You will work closely with Electronics Engineers, production specialists, and suppliers to develop, review, and refine PCB layouts that meet stringent standards for signal integrity, EMC, thermal management, and more.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing multi-layer PCBs for mixed domain embedded devices using Altium Designer
  • Performing detailed placement and routing with attention to impedance, power planes, signal integrity, EMC/EMI mitigation, and mechanical constraints
  • Ensuring compliance with international standards such as IPC-2221, IPC-7351, RoHS, and UL
  • Producing complete fabrication and assembly documentation for prototype and production builds
  • Managing PCB CAD systems, including creation and maintenance of component libraries and footprints
  • Leading design reviews and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement PCBs into manufacturing
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship across the team
  • Liaising with suppliers to evaluate fabrication capabilities and ensure timely procurement

The Fit

You’re an experienced PCB designer with at least 5 years in electronics hardware design and PCB development. You bring a strong technical understanding and a collaborative mindset.

What you’ll need:

  • NZQA Level 6 certificate, diploma in electronics or equivalent PCB design experience
  • Proficiency designing mixed domain PCBs that contain digital, analogue, power and RF circuits using Altium Designer (preferred tool).
  • Expertise in mixed-signal and power supply circuits, including HDI technologies like microvias and stacked vias
  • Solid knowledge of impedance control, power distribution, signal integrity, EMC best practices, and DFM/DFT principles
  • Experience working within product development and manufacturing environments
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate clearly
  • Leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and supporting team growth

Why Gallagher?

At Gallagher, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement drive everything we do. Join a supportive and flexible environment where your work shapes world-class security technologies protecting customers globally.
